The Georgetown Steam Plant is a National Historic Landmark undergoing a remarkable transformation. In 2019, the Georgetown Steam Plant CDA was formed, and tasked with a 60 year lease to foster this transformation forward. The estimated cost of this renovation has been calculated to be roughly $80 million. It won’t be easy. Raising $80 million never is. But, it will be fun! As stewards of this process, we are in it for the long haul, dedicated to creating a universally accessible community heritage center, a vibrant SHTEAM educational hub, and a unique event space unlike any other for future generations.
